During 22-25 July 2019, the projects for Singpore Engineering Vehicles and Berlin Shunting Locomotives successfully passed the first article inspections made by Zhuzhou Electrical Locomotive Co.,Ltd. 。
The project for Singpore Engineering Vehicles was approved and started in March 2019, including six cars and 12 air conditioners. According to the customer’s requirement, the product of this project needs to achieve the comfort indicator by 23±2℃ when the ambient temperature reaches 45℃. It’s very challengeable for us to realize the best performance of product in a limited space. In this condition, the project team kept improving in the process of scheme design and structural design, and organized a group of experts to doubly review the scheme and the structure, which ensure that the product passes the performance tests and meets the requirement of customer.
The project for Berlin Shunting Locomotives was approved at the end of 2018, including 4 locomotives and 4 air conditioners. The owner requires to realize seven-level adjustment for the air supply in driver's cab (between 900m3/h and 400m3/h), which is extremely difficult to design. After many technical exchanges with German owner, our project team adopted an innovative mode of 6-level transformer output with main circuit power input. After the final air volume test, the product achieves not only seven-level air supply but also an even more uniform adjustment at each level, which wins a high praise of our customer and lays a good fundation for the following purchasement.
The first article inspections for these two projects have been made more than 10 days ahead of the schedule against the temporary requirement of our customer, which is seemed impossible for our project team to complete the prototype and various tests. For this, our project team developed countermeasures without a delay. Through mutual cooperation and effective communication between the departments, the tasks were completed in advance and the first article inspections for the two projects were successful. These first article inspections have accumulated valuable experiences for design, production and coordination of the follow-up projects of our company.
